On August 15th 2005, JPMorgan Chase Bank awarded China Everbright Bank with the “Outstanding Quality Award 2004”, commending the Bank’s achievement on the settlement of US Dollars in 2004.This is the fifth time since 2000 for CEB to win the award, the only bank in China to win such an award five times in a row.It signifies that CEB is in the lead in terms of the quality of its foreign currency settlement.

JPMorgan Chase Bank is the world’s largest US Dollars settlement bank; it is the bellwether of US Dollars settlement.JPMorgan Chase assesses the quality of settlement instructions on an annual basis for all the banks that have opened accounts.During the course of assessment, CEB had an outstanding STP of 99%, much higher than the average STP level of domestic banks – 70% to 80%, and even higher than the average STP value of foreign banks – 92%.

Since the beginning of this year, CEB has had an outstanding performance in terms of business innovation and boosting market image: it was one of the first few banks to be authorized as both custodian and account manager for Corporate Pension Fund, becoming one of the four domestic commercial banks to be awarded with this honor; it was also one of the first few banks to be authorized as lead manager for short-term financing bonds, with accumulated managing-value accounting for 50% of the market; it won the tender for managing non-tax revenues for the Central Government, becoming the only domestic commercial bank to be fully authorized to manage the state’s treasury affairs, attracting wide attention in the industry.This is the fifth time that CEB has won the Award for Outstanding Quality Recognition, which shows that the Bank possesses obvious advantages in the management and operation of integrated foreign currency settlement, and signifies new progress in improving market competitiveness and providing high-quality services to its clients.
